Power of Content Marketing & SEO

Digital Marketing is holistic and comprises many subsets, of these SEO and content marketing are the most important. SEO is a short form of search engine optimization. It is an exercise to rank websites on SERPs. It is complex and requires skills and experience. It also requires a deep understanding of the ranking and indexing mechanism that search companies use.

Search companies employ several metrics that enable them to analyze and rank websites on specific keywords. They publish guidelines for webmasters but reveal only a few metrics. The search algorithms are kept secret so that black hat SEOs do not manipulate them. Search engines want quality sites to rank on the search engine result pages or SERPs. SEO is an organic exercise and does not require much investment, unlike paid marketing.

Content marketing relates to the distribution of several forms of articles that include videos, and graphics. For marketing using content, a team of writers, video creators, and graphic designers have to be used.

In this type of marketing, short-form and long-form writeups are mostly used with videos, images, and graphics embedded in them. With the arrival of social media platforms, content distribution has become possible.

While both marketing processes are poles apart, the common factor between them is content. While creating external links focused content is a must. The links are embedded in the writeups that are both short and long form. The same content can be used for distribution for content marketing. They can be posted on social media as well as mailed using emails. Email marketing is included in the campaign, as it is a good medium for distribution.

When both SEO and content marketing are used in conjunction the results are simply fabulous. Since content creation is central to both, it is possible that both can be brought under the umbrella of the same campaign.

In both cases, aggressive content creation and posting on social media sites is a must. Content is created using blogs and Internet publishing sites and links are embedded for SEO. Links HTML pathway that lead to the targeted website. Authoritative links are most preferred and highly rated by search engines. While content attracts the target audience and eventually leads them to goal conversion. Thus, this way two objectives are used using a single campaign.

Remember both are extensive and need consistency. While SEO aims at ranking on a number of related keywords content marketing aims for an increased audience base. Both are part of inbound marketing and help create substantial traffic for the websites and leads.
